📦 Shimmy Shipping Guide
Shipping on Shimmy Books is designed to be flexible and simple. Sellers choose the options they want to offer, and buyers select what works best for them.
1. Sellers set their shipping options
When you create your profile, you’ll choose which shipping methods you want to make available. You can update this in Account Settings at any time.
2. Buyers pick their preferred shipping
When someone buys your book, they’ll see the options you’ve enabled and choose their favourite.
3. Shipping methods explained

DPD or Yodel
If a buyer chooses DPD or Yodel, a barcode label is automatically generated in your order page. Take your packaged book to the drop-off point, scan the code, and you’re good to go - no printing needed.

InPost Lockers
If a buyer chooses InPost, you’ll arrange the shipment through the InPost app. This option is usually the cheapest and is great if you’re sending multiple books - they often fit into the small parcel category on Shimmy.
- Shipping payment: goes directly to you so you can organise yourself through the InPost app.

Self-Organised Shipping
Prefer to use Royal Mail, Evri, or another courier? Choose the self-organised option and set your own shipping price.
- Shipping payment: goes directly to you. You can then arrange the shipping however you like.
4. Top tips for smooth shipping ✨
- Package securely: Wrap books well to protect against bumps and water damage.
- Think about size: InPost small lockers can often fit more than one book, making it cost-effective for bundles.
- Ship within 48 hours: We ask all our users to try and ship the book within 48 hours. If that’s not possible - no problem! Just make sure to keep the buyer in the loop with timings.
